Feel free to message me if you need any help. Hope this helps anyone still having an issue. To add an IP address to your Comcast account, you must first connect your computer to the modem and then run the IPCONFIG command. This way is hardwiring but it's only to a little 2x2 pod in the wall outlet. On Windows, open Command Prompt, run ipconfig and look at the IP next to Default Gateway to find your router’s IP address. I know hardwiring isn't new but I did not have the option of having my internet in the basement where my Sim was setup. Ive been reading on here for over a month looking for help so I thought I would post how I did it. Ive gone through the USB wifi adapter, range extenders, and a second router with a new IP address cascading from the old router setup that can't be changed from Comcast. Ive spent over a month dealing with SkyTrak and Comcast being told there's no way to fix it but I didn't want to listen. The default IP address of Xfinity routers is usually 192.168.1.1, 192.168.100.1, or 10.1.10.1. By using a web browser of your choice and entering the IP address of your TC8706C (Comcast) router in the address bar you will load the login screen. Then plug in the cable to the comp, close The SkyTrak app and open TGC 2019. The trick Ive found is you have to leave the ethernet cable unplugged until The SkyTrak connects to the computers wifi and then you open The SkyTrak app. The best part is you don't need your internet or router in the room as your Sim, just one of the little pods since they plug into a normal outlet right next to where you comp is. Those pods have a ethernet connection plug that will allow you to hardwire the comp straight to it like you would a normal router, bypassing the IP address issue. Xfinity offers the little home pods to create a mesh network around your house. Comcast owns no propietary internet technology everything from your modem / router to their hub runs on well known standards usually described in RFC's 2.Every piece of comcast equipment you will see is mass produced linksys / netgear devices. I finally did find a work around that will allow The SkyTrak to connect wirelessly and the comp to also keep internet connection. And if it still doesn’t open, take out the user manual which came along with your Comcast and checks for the IP address. You can access the Admin tool at if it fails to open. It will show the default IP address of your Comcast modem. Once you are connected to the internet, open your browser and type ‘ 192.168.100.1 ‘ in the address bar for Xfinity modem login. ![]() Other causes of slow internet are network congestion, poor router placement. Ive recently built a new simulator and have been dealing with the Xfinity/Comcast IP issue for weeks. Follow the steps below to find the IP address of your Comcast modem/ router: Connect your PC to the Comcast router. Test your Xfinity internet download speed, upload speed, and latency.
